A question...needs an answer

Psalm 119:9-11
"Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
With my whole heart have I sought thee:  O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.  Blessed art thou, O LORD:  teach me thy statutes."

When we follow His Word, we then can say with the Psalmist:

Psalm 119:12-16
"With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
I will delight myself in thy statutes:  I will not forget thy word."

We can't follow His Word, if we aren't reading, memorizing, and meditating.  The only way to know the right way for life...spending time in God's Word.  I can't teach our children what I don't know myself!  I have been thinking about this question for a couple weeks now...How can we know what God wants, if we aren't reading and memorizing His Words?  Adults aren't exempt from the commands of this passage.  There are varying degrees of "young", if that is going to be a point of irritation!!!

As I read this passage this morning, I heard a song that asked this question!

"Will I hear my Father say, Welcome home, my child, well done?
I will live my life for Jesus Christ, so that in eternity, my life will be....gold, and silver, and precious stones.
We must all bow down...before the judgment seat...we must all give an account."

A shrug of "I don't know" or "It really didn't matter." won't be enough when I stand before my Lord.  He's given me the answers I need for the question He will ask!
