We feel so deeply with our heart...and often leave good sense at the door

I was reminded today, when attempting to help someone or just being that listening heart...I must remember, that there is always another side to the story.  Certain facts may be being withheld...for a devisive reason!  We forget that we have sinful hearts.  We forget that others have sinful hearts.  Pictures will be painted to show self in the best light possible, and others in the worst.  Our heart can be very deceitful, Jeremiah 17:9.  I need to remember that and be vigilant at all times.
It is so easy to get caught up in the emotion of a situation and lose all sense of is right...in God's eyes...not our eyes!  I have had to stop a couple times this week...and go back to God's Word.  It is not always easy being called upon to be that helping, encouraging, and/or listening heart.  Not everyone wants to think from God's perspective.  All we can do is lay out the truth...and then allow God to do the rest.  We have to understand that there may be some hurt and heartache involved.  God will do what He sees best...and I don't always know how He will need to work!  I spent some time in Proverbs 15 yesterday.  We need to use God's discernment!  And then pray that God's Word will reach the heart.
