The Great Disconnect

My phone charger...is always within reach.  Both Ted and I each have our own.  We also have chargers for our vehicles.  We have chargers for batteries.  We have special adapters for our technology and our vehicles. We are always connected to someone somehow...aren't we?!
We feel lost without our phones or laptops.
It wasn't that long ago that we didn't even own these items, let alone know what they were.
It amazes me how quickly I have succumbed to the importance of being connected to everyone.
I can disconnect for awhile...but then it is always fun to reconnect and catch-up.
The minutes and hours tick by un-noticed.
We never have to be alone.
We are never still and quiet for long.
There are some days I don't even stop to "plug in" to the One who gives me guidance for every moment of every day!  I get going in taking care of my family, the to do list, meals, errands, checking emails, and such...and didn't even stop to pick up my Bible before getting started with the most importance connection!  My phone was all charged and ready to go for the day...
but my heart was not even connected to be charged up for the day!
My how easily my priorities get all mixed up!
Psalm 119:105
George Washington made this statement long before we had the latest and greatest ways to connect to everyone and everything...and it is so true!
"It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."
Hoorah for our world!  We have the latest and greatest technology...
but we don't see the need or have the desire for God and the Bible.
