You think you do...but then you know you haven't...

I have finished some of my other books and thought I would take a look. I am realizing that I am due for some "fluff in my life" as my cheery friend states. I need to go to the library and read some recreational books too.  This book is not fluff!  It is straight-forward-stomp-on-your-toes reading!  I started reading this book yesterday and am half-way through it. I made myself put it down and ask God to show me what is in my heart.  It has been heavy for me. It is one of those books to read through and then go back through it on a regular basis. We, professing to be Christians, do not live out forgiveness in our daily lives! End of story. We say we do, but we don't. I know this to be true...in a very personal way.  A poisonous, bitter spirit that results from an unforgiving spirit touches more lives and causes more damage than the average Christian and church will admit.  There is a tendency to turn a blind eye to it...to justify it...to be fearful of it...and Satan has accomplished his purpose!  God's work comes to a stand still and Christians, in their willful ignorance, stand there batting their eyelashes asking, "What happened?" while they stood doing nothing but listening.
Listen to others...and you know if there is a heart of love and forgiveness.
Listen to yourself...and if that isn't enough...read this book...and every Scripture passage noted.
You will probably have to put it down too!
You will see the choices you make are not on the forgiving end at all...
they are more like an unlocked diary or gunny sack full of holes or an atomic bomb waiting to be ignited.
What hypocrites we are!
Listen...you will daily hear unforgiving words out of forgiven people...
Why do we think people will listen to us unforgivers...
tell about a Savior...
who forgives...
When we choose not to forgive others?
Where is the hope in that kind of lifestyle?
Praise the Lord for the truth of I John 1:9!  Nothing that I can do...but come and confess my sin...and He is faithful and just to forgive!  What an example!  What a blessed relief!
