We are blessed to bless!
Acts 20:35
"I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
No where in this verse does it mention that it is more blessed to give...if they receive it happily...willingly...with much appreciation...if they respond...
The emphasis is on what we do for others...following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ...and the example of Paul. I am encouraged by these examples. Life wasn't without its problems then...and it isn't now! We so often forget and lose heart.
Sometimes, in our state of weakness, we don't realize the importance of what is being given to us! Often, it takes some rough situations in life to shake us out of our complacency and ignorance. Sometimes, we don't know what we have been given until it is too late. And still at other times, the Lord, in His mercy and grace allows us to experience the joy and blessing of what is given.
What are you, out of your blessed life, giving to others? Thinking beyond the material (physical) needs to the spiritual and emotional needs of people. It is easy to meet a physical need...short, swift, and to the point. It takes time and energy to meet other needs...and if we don't...who will?
In our seeking to be a blessing to others this week, I have found blessing...and a reminder to keep on giving...because if I don't...who will?
