Hadn't heard this one before...in this context!

"Stay in your lane!"
Ted was sharing with me a work story...that did not end well.  "It escalated to two grown women yelling at each other in the middle of a meeting with several of us sitting there.  They were arguing about something that had nothing to do with them.  Talk about an awkward situation!  One of our  managers said to the one gal, "Stay in your lane!"  She didn't heed the warning and just kept going."  The illustration came up during our family devotions as we dealt with a somewhat similar situation on the pre-teen level.  "Girls, this type of situation is something that you will deal with your whole life!  Dad witnessed it again today.  You need to learn to close your mouth and walk away!  It's hard!"
This phrase has been rolling around my brain for the last week.  How often we are tempted to go into a lane (someone else's business) when we have no business going there!
