I believe this isn't just talking about physical rest...but also the emotional, mental, and spiritual rest! When things are swirling out of control in my heart and mind...I am a mess. But when I submit to God's Word and rest..."Be still and know that I am God..." I am at rest. There is a peace that settles over my spirit...so even in the busyness of life...I can still be at rest!
I am finding this to be very true in my life right now. We are in a different chapter of life than we were five...even two years ago. I am finding that my responsibilities keep me moving physically and mentally. When I do have down time...I fall asleep!
I am thankful for rest...in whatever form it comes. This week...it was a chat on the phone, a texting conversation with a new mom, a discipleship meeting, lunch with a friend, a belly laugh with a coworker, and conversations with our children.
God always sends rest after times of fear and hurt...and it is always sweet!
