Just for Moms...
My husband brought me my coffee to where I am working at the table, "Here, drink up! You better hurry up!" Please forgive me...I'm late this morning. Yes, I am struggling abit. No worries...just feel that I need to be honest.
In the middle of this "dream" or "nightmare" that I just can't seem to wake up from, I am thankful for the things that remain the same! I am thankful for the sun coming up each morning and setting each evening. I especially love the days that we can see it!!! The birds are still singing. Trees are budding. Flowers are blooming. Seasons are still changing. Time still marches on...even though, in a way, it seems to stand still. I am most thankful that every time I open my Bible...God's Words never change! I needed extra time with God this morning. Do you have those days? Do you take the time?
Proverbs 6:20-24
My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou steepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life; to keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
I think of how often I was asked to tie shoes in K5! I miss that...even though it grossed me out terribly...especially after a trip into the bathrooms! I'd wash furiously and then germ-x...and that was before the virus craze! Every day...multiple times...I would always say, "Let's tie them in a double knot so they won't come untied again!" Guess what...somehow on some days they would come untied...sometimes with help. We tell our children, "Tie your shoes so you don't trip and fall and get hurt." How...I really want to know...do they hardly ever, or if ever, actually not fall and get hurt because of untied shoe laces? It is preventative!!! And it makes the caregiver feel better and we don't have to say, "I told you so!"
What a great picture of what we are to do each day with our Father's commandments...bind and tie them continually! Every day...perhaps multiple times a day! God gave us a reason for the binding and tying...for our protection and for our instruction. Are you tied up for the day? I'm getting there!
With love,
Kari...just a mom giggling about saying "Hey, your commandments are untied! Better bind them tight today! It is week 3 of distance learning!"
