Just for Moms...
This song (It's About the Cross) will forever be my favorite song! It is my testimony and I love sharing the hope that the cross gives us. I had that opportunity yesterday...and I am still amazed at the circumstances. It was a reminder that you just never know how God will use the times in our life to touch others. Our family viewed the interaction we had as a job for our son. Our family viewed our conversations as being kind. Our family viewed the meetings as helpful.
Yesterday, I received a text from a lady that Ted and Teddy had done some spring cleanup for five years ago when we lived in the mobile home park off Old Plank Road. That big job turned into an annual mowing and clean up job for Teddy for a couple years. I would visit with her every time I dropped Teddy off or picked him up. She got to know about our family. Her husband got very ill and was in the hospital. We did our best to minister to them during that time.
Then we moved to where we live and life got busier as Teddy entered the sports life. He got different jobs. This lady would occasionally reach out to say, "Hello" and share craft supplies that she had had for years knowing I would share them at school. I would stop over and chat with her.
She wrote to ask me to pray for her sister who has cancer and is struggling terribly with pain. She expressed fear and concern over what is happening in our world right now. I had the opportunity to share with her the reason of the hope that lives within me. I asked God for clarity as I responded to her and He gave me that. "I am 60 years old and I have never heard it summed up so clearly like that before."
Oh, friends, would you pray for the seed that was planted!?! I am still in wonder that she would contact me now...like this...I can't ever go over to see her. But God can work! A relationship that all started because my husband and son had a testimony in the small job. People are watching us...and you just never know when you will get to clearly share the Gospel. Don't be frustrated by this time at home!!! Do the work inside your four walls...and know that God is still at work outside those walls...in ways you would never dream!
With love,
Kari...just a mom who was just a sinner saved by grace!
