I bought this book in the spring...

because I thought it would help me...as a wife, mother, daughter, friend. Evangelist Ron DeGarde challenged us to read and study God's Word. He also had several books he offered as helpful "outside reading".

I started it and had to set it aside.

My heart and mind needed time to let the truth soak in. And then God made my heart ready in a very real way. I was ready to pick up this book again...or so...I thought.

I never could have imagined what these chapters held. I had to put it down this morning, so I could digest what the author points out from Scripture. I thought this study would help me as I padded our home in my slippers...little did I know how much it would help me understand how cunning Satan is at home and everywhere else!

"Dandelions have something in common with our tongues- they both have roots. If we try to resolve sinful speech patterns from the neck up, we soon find that the problems keep coming back. That's because our speech problems are really heart problems. Our tongues are the servants of our spirits. My words simply reveal what's on my heart. All talk is really heart talk."

Matthew 12:33-37

"Jesus'comments were in response to the Pharisees, who were down-playing His miracles by saying, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons (vs. 14-24). Christ responded by pointing out that what they said was a reflection of their wicked hearts (vs. 25-32). In fact, our words are such an accurate reflection of our spiritual condition that Christ concludes this section by saying that our words will be the basis for His judgment. We will be held accountable for our words, not because God is a "nit-picker", but because our words affirm our true inner condition."

Romans 3:10-18

Now you know why I had to put the book down again...
and I am asking God to continue to keep His Words fresh in my heart
and His hand upon my mouth.
The Christian walk isn't easy!  He never said it would be!  I am finding out that each one of us walk differently...at different paces in different footwear....and often without being led by the Holy Spirit.  And sometimes...we are walking on two entirely different roads.
I am not the final authority in my life, nor in anyone else's life.  I am only able to stand and shuffle on...sometimes while just in my slippers...because of God's amazing grace!
