What do I know about my God?

I was adding to my "What Do I Know About My God" notebook.  I've read back over the various sections and the verses that God has used to convict, challenge, and comfort my heart.  There have been so many different situations in our life since I set up my notebook of what I know about my God.
In this book, the author records an illustration about how we often deal with problems in our life.  Instead of going to God's Word and filling my mind with truth, I rehearse the hurts and hardships.
Psalm 37
My God is faithful.
My God provides.
My God is my judge.
My God is longsuffering and merciful...and He doesn't want me to fret...
"to glow with anger, to grow warm or burn, to be incensed or indignant".
My God gives strength...to me to trust in Him,
to delight in Him, to commit my way to Him, and to rest in Him.

"...a woman with a problem can be like a little raccoon with an apple;  the raccoon examines it from every possible angle, takes a bite out of it, dunks it in the water, and then starts the process all over again..."
Instead of fretting and stewing (or raccooning), I need to be delighting in God...because that is what my God expects.
