Just for Moms...
It is Palm Sunday. The day is usually spent in our church where the Sunday school teachers teach our children about Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey and the people waving palm branches in praise and honor for their King. We gather in the auditorium to sing worship songs and ponder the thought of what happened at Calvary.
Do not let this day go by shrouded in disappointment for what it doesn't look like this year!!! Oh no...take the opportunity to teach your children God's Words and praise Him together as a family! Read Isaiah 53 together. Have your children tell you in their own words...their understanding of what happened to Jesus. Hide your giggles (as much as possible) if they get some things mixed up (record the retelling/conversation if at all possible!). Bask in the simplicity of a child's understanding...let it touch your soul. Explain the verses again if you need to...be clear with simple words. The Bible tells us that even a child can understand what God has for us to learn of Him! Go back and put together your own set of Resurrection eggs to help you explain parts of the Easter story. We did it for the Christmas story! This part of the story is the reason we have HOPE! Tell it over and over!
Don't let frustration and disappointment cause you to miss a wonderful chance to lead your children to God!
With love,
Kari...just a mom sitting here rejoicing in the hope found in Christ!
LISTEN...AND IT WILL ADD TO YOUR PRAISE LEVEL THIS MORNING! I KNOW YOUR KINDER WILL LIKE THIS STORY-SONG!
