Just for Moms...
Do you have a friend who encourages you? Do you have a friend who challenges you? We all need friends like that! Proverbs 27:17 tells us that we are to be that kind of friend! I had one of my "iron sharpens iron" friends contact me yesterday. We chatted. She shared her heart. Then she asked a question, "I need to be doing something. I can't be idle. Do you have some ideas that would help me?" I shared a couple things that I have been doing and some thoughts and said, "I will check on you tomorrow! I will try to think of some other helpful things."
Ouch! I just made myself accountable to her! I have some work to do. I've been thinking ever since I woke up about what we as mothers do each day. As our children have gotten older, my motherly jobs look different but still the same in theory and often practice. I've been doing some extra educational reading/listening as we have been home. Why not apply what I am being reminded to adults?!
Every day...take time to...create, discuss, observe, read, sing, and move! As a kindergarten teacher, I do that every day in our classroom with our little friends. The more senses we use...the more we enjoy the world around us! Iron sharpening iron...doesn't have to be hard. Just share your life with your friend and encourage them in the little things...sometimes...we over-look the importance of those little things. Remember...life is made up of little things! There is peace and comfort in those things...when we come up against big things. Luke 16:10 Be faithful in the little things...and be content today.
With love,
Kari...just a mom simply practicing what I have been doing and increasing my learning
